Sanitary services of Northern Cyprus have warned about the expansion of the list of baby formulas being recalled from the market due to possible presence of cereulide — a toxin produced by the bacterium Bacillus cereus.

This is a precautionary measure taken after receiving information through international food safety control systems and additional supply checks.

The following batches are subject to recall:

  • Aptamil 1 (400 g)
    Batch: 101480258
    Expiry date: 20.11.2026
  • Almiron Pronutra 2 (400 g)
    Batch: 101464043
    Expiry date: 12.08.2026

These products were distributed on the Northern Cyprus market and are being withdrawn as a precaution.

Full list of baby formulas subject to recall:

Sanitary services strongly advise not to use these batches for infant feeding and to return the products to the stores where they were purchased.

It is separately noted that the baby food may have been purchased online or through parallel imports, so consumers are advised to carefully check batch numbers and expiry dates.

The inspection continues. If additional batches or products are identified, a new official notice will be published.
