Nicosia Turkish Municipality (LTB) Public Health Branch Continues Night Inspections

The Public Health Branch of the Nicosia Turkish Municipality (LTB) continues night-time sanitary inspections of businesses in Nicosia, Northern Cyprus. Inspections are carried out both during the day and at night, covering hygiene, food safety, and working conditions.

With four separate teams, a total of 518 establishments—including restaurants, cafes, bakeries, pastry shops, production workshops, and markets—were inspected from the beginning of February until March 12 inclusive.

As a result of the inspections, 26 businesses were issued legal notices; staff were given necessary instructions on compliance with hygiene standards.

Additionally, as part of the monitoring process, water samples were taken from 13 different areas and sent to the state laboratory for analysis.

The LTB Public Health Branch stated that the intensified inspections, launched due to increased night-time activity during the month of Ramadan, will continue through the pre-holiday period and during the Bayram holiday.
