Today, the Republic Day is celebrated in Northern Cyprus
On November 15, Northern Cyprus celebrates the 41st anniversary of the establishment of the TRNC. Festive ceremonies and official events are taking place throughout the country.
As part of the national holiday - Republic Day, there will be parades, an airshow by the Turkish Air Force's SOLOTÜRK aerobatic team, visits by Turkish military ships to the ports of Kyrenia and Famagusta, concerts, and sports events.
On the eve of the celebrations, the President of the TRNC, Ersin Tatar, took part in ceremonies held at the Mausoleums of the first founding president, Rauf Raif Denktaş, and one of the leaders of the Turkish Cypriots' struggle for independence, Fazıl Küçük. The leader of Northern Cyprus signed the Book of Remembrance.
- We will pass on the state you inherited, the passion for freedom, and the spirit of struggle from generation to generation, - wrote the leader of the Turkish Cypriots.
It is worth noting that today, November 15, the events will begin at 09:00 with a congratulatory speech from the President of the TRNC and the Vice President of Turkey, Cevdet Yılmaz. At 09:30, a wreath will be laid at the Atatürk monument in Nicosia.
After the raising of the flags, a minute of silence, and the performance of the National Anthem, a ceremony for signing the Special Book of Remembrance will take place.
