Retirement Age for Dockworkers Temporarily Extended in Northern Cyprus
The Council of Ministers of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has issued a decree with the force of law concerning the Cyprus-Turkish dockworkers Company. The retirement age for employees at the ports and members of the board of the dockworkers company, who were scheduled to retire, has been temporarily extended until the completion of the tender for port services.
The relevant document was published in the "Official Gazette." According to the law, employees, and managers of the dockworkers Company are not permitted to continue in their roles once they exceed the age of 65.
However, the justification for the decision states that the tender for port services is now in its final stage. To avoid potential management issues during this period and ensure that necessary actions are taken to resolve any problems, the age limit for employees at the Port Workers Company has been extended until the completion of the tender process. However, not for more than three months.
