Paid option to expedite driving test introduced in Northern Cyprus

A regulation allowing the practical driving test to be taken on an expedited basis has come into force in Northern Cyprus. The corresponding decision has been published in the Official Gazette and is already in effect.
According to the document, candidates will be able to take the driving test within 5 working days from the date of application if they pay an additional fee of 20% of the minimum wage. This fee is paid on top of the standard examination fee.
The regulation was approved by the Council of Ministers and submitted for consideration to the Republican Assembly. The measure will be in effect until July 31, 2026.
Authorities explain that the innovation is intended to reduce queues and give applicants the opportunity to secure a test date faster — for an additional fee.
