Cucumber Prices Skyrocket in Northern Cyprus in Just One Day
Cucumber prices in Northern Cyprus have surged dramatically in just one day, increasing by 35 Turkish lira per kilogram.
A vegetable vendor from Gönyeli shared the price hike on social media. According to the vendor, cucumber prices in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) reached 120 lira per kilogram starting yesterday.

"Due to market fluctuations, cucumbers, which were selling for 85 lira yesterday, began at 109 lira this morning. By noon, the price had climbed to 120 lira. I doubt there’s any other country that enjoys such a steep price increase during the holidays," the vendor stated, as reported by Kibris Postasi.
Earlier, butchers and dairy producers in Northern Cyprus decided to reduce their prices for the duration of the holy month of Ramadan. After the Milk Producers Association (SÜİB) announced a 10% price cut on milk and dairy products, the Butchers’ Association followed suit with a similar decision.
