A Warning Strike Will Take Place Tomorrow at the Telecommunications Department in Northern Cyprus
The Trade Union of Employees of the TRNC Telecommunications Department (Tel-Sen) announced a warning strike tomorrow at the Northern Cyprus Department premises.
The strike will take place from 08:00 to 12:00 with the participation of the Türk-Sen Federation, as well as the affiliated unions and associations Hür-İş and Kamu-İş.
Tel-Sen Chairman Hakan Yüredi, in a written statement, pointed to the "uncertainty regarding the future of the Department," which, according to him, is vital for communication infrastructure and public services. Yüredi also stated the rejection of "practices hidden from the public."
In the morning, participants will gather in front of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport in Northern Cyprus; a press conference is scheduled at 10:00. Afterward, union representatives intend to meet with the ministry leadership to request clarifications on the issues raised in the statement.
For residents of Northern Cyprus, this means possible restrictions on reception and service at the Department during the specified interval; the statement does not contain official information about the impact on telephone or internet services.
