Name of Turkish Soldier Killed in Northern Cyprus Accident Released
The Ministry of National Defense has released the name of the soldier who died in a tragic accident involving a military vehicle on the Güzelyurt – Akçay road. The soldier was identified as Uğurcan Işık.
“On August 22, 2024, in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, our heroic comrade Uğurcan Işık lost his life in a traffic accident. Eleven of our brave comrades were injured and immediately transferred to the hospital for treatment,” the ministry's statement said.
The Ministry of National Defense expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased soldier and the Turkish Armed Forces, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured soldiers.
The tragic accident occurred yesterday around 9:00 a.m. when a military jeep overturned, resulting in injuries to 12 soldiers. All the injured were taken to medical facilities, but unfortunately, one of them passed away.
