November “Hunger Limit” Announced in Northern Cyprus
The Cyprus and Turkey Civil Servants Union (KTAMS) has announced that the “hunger limit” for a family of four, as of November 30, stands at 27,514 TL.
According to a study conducted by the union, the necessary expenses for healthy eating are as follows:
- For an adult man: 244.67 TL per day, 7,340.10 TL per month.
- For an adult woman: 234.07 TL per day, 7,022.10 TL per month.
- For a child aged 15–19 years: 258.32 TL per day, 7,749.60 TL per month.
- For a child aged 4–6 years: 171.42 TL per day, 5,142.60 TL per month.
The report was prepared by the Department of Inpatient Healthcare Institutions of the Ministry of Health of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, based on a dietary plan designed for a family of four and the cost of the required food items.
The TRNC Statistical Institute provided the union with price analysis.
It’s important to note that the TRNC Statistical Institute also recently announced the country’s inflation rate. In November, inflation sharply decreased to 0.78%. Compared to December of the previous year, prices increased by 51.63%, and the annual increase stands at 59.88%.
