Ammunition in hand luggage: detention at Ercan Airport
At Ercan Havalimanı, during the screening of a passenger departing from the TRNC, five live .22 caliber cartridges were found in his bag.
The incident occurred the previous day at around 18:00 during an X-ray inspection. The 41-year-old man was detained for illegal possession of ammunition, and the investigation is ongoing.
Separately, the police reported that during raids across the country, two more individuals were detained for being in the territory of the TRNC without residence permits.
