Protest Action by Cashiers in Kyrenia
In front of the Şokmar supermarket in Kyrenia, cashiers staged a protest action. They are dissatisfied because their chairs were taken away.
The demonstration, organized under the slogan "Cashiers are not allowed to sit in this supermarket!", was led by Independence Road.
Participants distributed leaflets in front of the store with the following messages: "Did you know that in the supermarket you are about to enter, cashier stools have been removed by management?" and "How does this affect the work or productivity of cashiers when they cannot sit on a stool?"
The demonstrators also highlighted the issue of "handing over mobile phones to a responsible person at the beginning of the workday," a practice faced by many private sector employees, and demanded an end to this practice.
The declaration also includes a demand to prohibit hiring non-unionized workers in the private sector.
