Due to the fault of a drunk driver, a motorcyclist died on the Kyrenia – Tatlısu highway
Another fatal road accident occurred in Northern Cyprus. A 30-year-old motorcyclist died on the main road from Kyrenia to Tatlısu.
According to the police press service, the accident happened yesterday evening at 23:10 on the 32nd kilometer of the main road from Kyrenia to Tatlısu. The 30-year-old motorcycle driver, Cemre Yön, died after colliding with a car driven by an intoxicated driver.
The motorcycle was heading towards Tatlısu. At the intersection with the Palm Bay View area, the 19-year-old car driver, while under the influence of alcohol, exceeded the speed limit and entered the main road without stopping. As a result, the motorcycle crashed into the car.
The motorcycle driver, who sustained serious injuries, died at the scene of the incident. The car driver, who sustained minor injuries, was taken to Akçiçek Hospital in Kyrenia, discharged after treatment, and then arrested by the police.
