Actual Salaries of Civil Servants in the TRNC Announced
The Statistical Institute of Northern Cyprus has released updated salary figures for civil servants following the announcement of December and annual inflation rates. The lowest salary for civil servants is now set at 56,079 Turkish lira, while the President receives 243,204 TL—the highest salary in the public sector.
In January 2025, the inflation rate for the previous four months was calculated at 11.12%, bringing the minimum wage up to 39,180 TL. By comparison, the lowest-paid civil servant earns 43% more than the minimum wage.
According to the published data, an average civil servant earning 34,430 TL in May 2024 will now receive 56,079 TL. Civil servants with a higher education qualification will earn 65,111 TL, teachers will receive 68,686 TL, general practitioners are set to earn 107,434 TL, and specialist doctors will be paid 124,521 TL.
As of January 2025, the President’s salary remains the highest at 243,204 TL. Members of Parliament earn 211,613 TL, while deputy ministers are paid 151,087 TL. Political party leaders have seen their salaries increase to 126,395 TL.
