Police Conduct School Area Inspections Using Drones
As part of the "Safe School" project implemented by the Main Police Directorate, security and traffic control measures have been strengthened near educational institutions. One of the features of the new phase of the program is the use of drones to monitor the situation from the air.
This morning, police conducted raids using drones around the Turkish Pedagogical College and the Şehit Hüseyin Ruso High School. The main task was to monitor the situation around the schools, identify possible public order violations, and control traffic.
In addition to aerial monitoring, attention is given to pedestrian safety, especially schoolchildren, the movement of parents, and school buses. Police are on duty during peak hours — in the morning and after lessons — controlling road conditions and inspecting vehicles transporting children.
The "Safe School" project includes not only increased police presence and the use of modern technologies, but also preventive work with students, their parents, and school administration. In cooperation with the Ministry of Education, school leaders, and parent committees, seminars are planned on road safety, the dangers of drugs, safe internet use, countering cyber aggression and bullying, and preventing minors from engaging in criminal activities.
The initiative aims to create the safest possible environment around schools, reduce road traffic accident risks, increase awareness among children and their parents about dangers, and strengthen collaboration between the police, educational institutions, and the community as a whole.
