Police conduct series of operations: arrests for drugs, theft, and arson
Several police operations took place across different districts of the TRNC, resulting in the arrest of suspects in cases involving drugs, theft, and causing a fire.
In Bafra, officers from the Iskele Police Directorate stopped a car driven by a 22-year-old man for inspection. During the search, hand-rolled cigarettes containing a substance suspected to be cannabis mixed with tobacco were found on him and in the vehicle. The suspect was detained.
Another operation occurred in the Küçük Kaymaklı area. Officers from the anti-crime department searched a house where they found approximately 23 grams of cannabis, as well as about two grams of a substance presumably mixed with tobacco. Two men, aged 27 and 28, were arrested in connection with the case.
At the same time, police are investigating a theft in Alsancak. According to the investigation, three iron table legs and a safe were stolen from a residential building. Two suspects, aged 31 and 54, have been detained as part of the investigation.
Additionally, an investigation has been launched in Karşıyaka regarding a 19-year-old man who, according to police, caused a fire during the illegal felling of trees using a chainsaw. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified.
Law enforcement agencies are continuing their investigations into all cases and remind the public of ongoing checks and operations to ensure public safety.
