The General Directorate of Police of Northern Cyprus (KKTC) is launching a new initiative aimed at improving road safety. Within this program, citizens will be able to voluntarily provide the police with information about incidents and facts that potentially create danger on the roads.

The program is organized on a voluntary basis. The purpose of the project is to combine the efforts of society and law enforcement agencies to prevent accidents and to promote a culture of safe driving. Citizens will directly cooperate with the police, reporting incidents that deserve attention.

Participation is possible only after completing a special road safety course organized by the General Directorate of Police. After the training, participants will be able to report cases, the observation of which may help prevent accidents and improve the road situation.

The following criteria have been set for participation in the program:

  • be a citizen of Northern Cyprus;
  • be between 30 and 65 years old;
  • have at least a secondary (lyceum) education;
  • hold a driving license issued at least ten years ago;
  • have a clean criminal record, not convicted of serious crimes;
  • have no violations related to driving under the influence of alcohol or without a license;
  • not have been involved in an accident that resulted in fatalities.

This initiative can become an important step in improving road safety in Northern Cyprus. It involves active citizen participation and allows for quick responses to dangerous situations, thereby creating an environment of caution and mutual control.
