TRNC Police Discover Gun Used in Shooting at Princess Night Club
The police in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) have found the gun believed to have been used in the shooting at Princess Night Club in Alaykaya this past weekend.
According to local media reports, the attack was carried out by a man who had arrived on the island from Turkey. After firing four shots, he buried the weapon near the club.
A police spokesperson confirmed that while the gun used in the shooting has been recovered, the identity of the shooter has yet to be determined.
Local newspaper Halkın Sesi reported that the suspect is thought to have entered the island using a false name. Prior to the attack, he reportedly rented a car.
It should be noted that the shooting occurred late on Sunday evening when an unknown individual fired several shots at the club before fleeing the scene.
As part of the investigation, police have examined surveillance footage, including recordings from nearby entertainment venues. This led to the discovery of a 9mm Glock pistol, which is believed to have been the weapon used in the attack.
Although the recovered gun was broken, the ballistic unit is analyzing it to check for any connections to other crimes. The investigation is still ongoing.
