The delegation is led by Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, who is scheduled to hold both bilateral and interdelegation meetings today with the Vice President of the Republic of Turkey, Cevdet Yılmaz.
Accompanying the Prime Minister are Democratic Party leader and Deputy Prime Minister Fikri Ataoğlu, who also serves as Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, and Rebirth Party (YDP) leader Erhan Arıklı, who holds the post of Minister of Public Works and Transport.
“Since the formation of our government, we have maintained our relationship with the Republic of Turkey at the highest level—built on mutual love, respect, trust, and cooperation. We are now focused on implementing major projects aimed at improving the welfare of our people, funded through the 2025 Economic and Financial Cooperation Agreement,” Prime Minister Üstel said ahead of the visit.
The 2025 agreement between Turkey and the TRNC was officially published in the Official Gazette. Signed on March 21 in Ankara, the agreement includes a financial commitment of 21 billion Turkish lira to support development initiatives in Northern Cyprus.
