Head of the Religious Affairs Department of the TRNC Resigns
Ahmet Unsal, the head of the Religious Affairs Department of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), has resigned. The official resignation letter was submitted to the country's Prime Minister, Ünal Üstel.

According to local media reports, it is expected that the Prime Minister will accept Unsal's resignation shortly. He will officially step down from his position on February 1.
Ahmet Unsal was appointed as the Director of Religious Affairs in 2021.
Possible successors for the role include Hakan Moran and Fahrettin Ogdu.
