Children from Around the World Paint for Peace in Girne
As part of the International Children's Festival "Summer Joy," children visiting the TRNC gathered in Girne to take part in a creative workshop themed "Peace Around the World." The celebrations will continue at the Ancient Harbour on June 1st, in honor of International Children’s Day.
Organizers reported that the drawing workshop took place at the Girne Municipality Social Life Center. Children from Ukraine, Palestine, Poland, Colombia, and Turkey, who are attending the festival, participated in the activity and expressed their visions of peace through colorful artwork.
Following the workshop, the young artists visited Kyrenia Castle and the Ancient Harbour to explore the rich cultural heritage of the region.
Girne Municipality will host a festive celebration on Sunday, June 1st, to mark International Children’s Day. The event, which will run from 2:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Ancient Harbour, will feature a lineup of dance and music performances, face painting, inflatable playgrounds, and balloon giveaways to delight children and families alike.
