Üstel: “No More Illegal Students or Workers – Everyone Will Be Where They Belong”
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel has pledged to crack down on unregistered individuals, stating:
“There will be no illegal students, no illegal workers. Students will be in their schools, and workers will be at their workplaces.”
Üstel said that, thanks to coordination with the Republic of Turkey, individuals with criminal records or a tendency toward unlawful behavior will be identified at the border before entering the country.
He also made it clear that anyone found breaking the law will face deportation.
“I want to bring back the days when we could sleep with our doors and windows open,” he said, referring to a time of greater public safety and peace of mind.
The Prime Minister emphasized that tackling illegal migration is essential to maintaining the country’s wellbeing, peace, and security:
“The service sector plays a key role in our economy. More than 100,000 international students are currently enrolled in our universities. Our tourism industry is growing stronger every day, and we are moving confidently toward new targets in visitor numbers.”
Üstel also warned that unregistered individuals pose a potential threat to public safety, and announced that 7,000 people have already been deported.
