President of the TRNC met with the Personal Representative of the UN Secretary-General

President of the TRNC, Ersin Tatar, met with the Personal Representative of the UN Secretary-General. The meeting with Maria Angela Holguin Cuellar began at 11:30. The diplomat's delegation was welcomed by the Deputy Secretary of the President's Office, Okan Donangil.

During the negotiations in the Presidency, the UN Special Representative was accompanied by the Head of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP), Colin Stewart.

It is worth noting that before meeting with the leader of the Turkish Cypriots, Maria Angela Holguin Cuellar met with the head of the Greek Cypriots' administration, Nikos Christodoulidis.

After her appointment, the Colombian diplomat is making her first visit to the island to find common ground for the resumption of negotiations between the two sides.

The diplomat visited the UNFICYP headquarters in the buffer zone the day before. Also, during her trip to the island, she will meet with representatives of non-governmental organizations.
