Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu: "The righteous cause is not over, children will carry the banner"
Diplomacy in Northern Cyprus: Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, in his congratulatory message for the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day, emphasized that the Turkish Cypriot people are fighting a righteous cause that is not yet completed, and that the state flag and symbols of sovereignty will be passed on to future generations.
As Ertuğruloğlu noted, April 23—the day of the opening of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey—was given to children as a holiday by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who simultaneously entrusted them with the heritage of sovereignty and the republic.
According to the minister, children are "the strongest guarantee of the future." He stressed that children, as worthy members of the state and nation founded through righteous resistance, will carry tomorrow forward, along with the state and the banner of sovereignty.
"The righteous cause is not over," the message states.
Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu also congratulated all children and residents on the holiday and wished that April 23—National Sovereignty and Children's Day—passes safely and well.
