President of the TRNC Welcomes New Turkish Ambassador in Nicosia

The President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ersin Tatar, welcomed Yasin Ekrem Serim, the newly appointed Turkish Ambassador in Nicosia, along with his team of advisors. President Tatar wished the diplomats success in their new roles.

According to a statement from the President's press office, during his welcome speech, President Tatar emphasized that the ongoing tensions in the Eastern Mediterranean underscore the critical importance of public security. He highlighted that the TRNC holds regular consultations with the Republic of Turkey regarding airspace and maritime security.

Tatar also stressed the importance of monitoring and managing illegal migration and acknowledged Turkey’s key role in safeguarding the security of the TRNC and global peace.

Ambassador Yasin Ekrem Serim introduced the newly appointed military attaché, Hüseyin Güder, and internal affairs advisors, Tamer Alp and Soner Yıldırım, to the President of the TRNC.

Ambassador Serim reaffirmed that with the support of the Turkish Cypriot Peacekeeping Force Command, the Security Forces Command, and the police liaison office at the Turkish Embassy, the TRNC receives full backing in terms of security measures.
