"It was a successful visit; we made sure that the voice of the TRNC and our people was heard and represented," stated Ersin Tatar.

The head of Northern Cyprus thanked the President of The Gambia and the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for their attention and hospitality and emphasized the importance of the observer status of the TRNC in the second-largest organization, after the UN.

Ersin Tatar also stated that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will continue to work towards taking its place in international organizations and enhancing its status.

"The goal is to continue peace, tranquility, and trust, and that is why the decision to establish two states in Cyprus is the only right one," summarized the head of state.

It is worth noting that today the Personal Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General, Maria Angela Olguín Cuéllar, arrives on the island, who will hold a series of negotiations and meetings with the leaders of the two communities.
