The presidents of Turkey and the TRNC congratulated each other on the holiday.
The President of the TRNC, Ersin Tatar, spoke on the phone with the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The leaders of the two countries congratulated each other on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
During the phone call, the head of Northern Cyprus, on behalf of the Turkish leader, congratulated Turkey and the entire Islamic world on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and wished health, peace, and prosperity.
Ersin Tatar also informed Recep Erdoğan about the outcome of his meeting with the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), António Guterres, in New York last week.
In response, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also congratulated Ersin Tatar on the holiday and expressed hope that Eid al-Fitr would bring benefit to the entire Turkish Cypriot people and the Islamic world.
