Presidents of Turkey and TRNC Attend the Opening of Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship State Hospital
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan inaugurated the Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship State Hospital, named in his honor and built in Bishkek by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA). Ersin Tatar, President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), also attended the ceremony.
In his opening remarks, Erdoğan expressed pride and happiness at bringing this new hospital to Kyrgyzstan, saying, “It’s a great source of pride for us to establish this 150-bed hospital here."
Turkey’s Health Minister, Kemal Memişoğlu, further explained that the 12,000-square-meter facility was built under the guidance of President Erdoğan to enhance healthcare services in Kyrgyzstan.
“We invested $9 million in this project. In addition, we have provided $19 million in medical assistance. We’ve signed a five-year cooperation protocol to support our Kyrgyz brothers and sisters with even better healthcare, pledging an additional $35 million in aid,” the minister said.
The hospital currently employs six doctors from Turkey and 35 from Kyrgyzstan, and it has already completed 4,000 outpatient treatments and 1,000 surgeries. The facility is fully equipped to perform all types of liver and kidney transplants.
