THE BUDGET OF THE MINISTRY OF NATIONAL EDUCATION OF THE TRNC IS APPROVED
The budget of the Ministry of National Education for the year 2024 has been approved by the Committee on Economy, Finance, Budget, and Planning. It will amount to 9 billion 848 million 44 thousand 900 Turkish liras.
It is noted that during the Committee meeting, opposition deputies criticized the unprepared implementation of full-day education, deviation from secular education, the lack of solutions to the problem of classroom overcrowding, and the high number of foreign students.
Subsequently, the proposal to increase the contribution to the Student Preparation Center from 3 to 4 million Turkish liras was adopted by a majority vote.
Proposals to reduce the contribution for school equipment by 500 thousand TL, from 20 million to 19.5 million, were also approved by a majority vote. This amount is proposed to be transferred to the distance education category.
After the amendments were proposed, the budget of the Ministry of National Education in the amount of 9 billion 848 million 44 thousand 900 TL was approved by a majority vote, and discussions on the budgets of the Atatürk Pedagogical Academy and the European University of Lefke began.
