Citrus producers in Güzelyurt begin an indefinite protest action

Citrus producers in Northern Cyprus have announced that on Monday, December 22, they will begin an indefinite protest action in Güzelyurt. As reported by Ali Alioğlu, head of the Citrus Producers’ Union, the start is scheduled for 16:00 near the Union’s building.
The action is being called a “fire of protest” and participants are urging not only farmers but also local residents to join, in order to draw attention to the sector’s problems and protect the incomes of families that depend on the citrus season.
