The missing car was found six months later thanks to a press publication

Cyprus resident Erol Gündüz said that his car, which had been considered missing since 25 May 2025, was found six months later under a building in Gönyeli. The vehicle was located thanks to a report published in the pages of Kıbrıs Gazetesi and a tip from an attentive reader.
According to Gündüz, after contacting the police and a long, unsuccessful search, he turned to the media for help. Two days after the journalistic report about the disappearance of the car, the vehicle was spotted and returned to its owner. The vehicle had been damaged.
Gündüz expressed his gratitude to the newspaper’s editorial team and to the citizen who noticed the information and called after the publication. He also noted the worrying trend of an increase in similar cases on the island and stressed the need to strengthen security measures.
