Drunk Repeat Offender Steals Journalist's Car in Güzelyurt
Early this morning in Güzelyurt, a car belonging to a journalist from a local publication was stolen. The thief turned out to be a drunk student with a prior conviction for drug-related offenses.
The incident was shared by correspondent Rana Sarro on her social media page. According to her, the car was stolen from near her home at around 5:30 AM.
Later, the police found the thief along with the car on the campus of the Middle East Technical University (METU). The car had been damaged in an accident.
At the time of his arrest, the man was intoxicated. It was later revealed that the student had previously been in trouble with the law, having been convicted for drugs. The police have arrested the young man for car theft.
