Russia, Cyprus, and Turkey rank 13th in the world in terms of the number of paid public holidays

In anticipation of May 1st - International Workers' Day, a rating of countries around the world by the number of paid public holidays has been compiled. Iran and Cambodia emerged as the world leaders in this regard. Russia, Cyprus, and Turkey share the 13th spot, while Greece found itself closer to the bottom of the list.

The global study on the duration of holidays for residents of different countries was conducted by experts from the portal Resume.io.

According to the study, on average, all countries worldwide have about 12 non-working public holidays per year. Most of the countries leading in the number of holidays are located in Asia and the Middle East.

As reported by "Kommersant," Iran leads the rating, where, taking into account religious holidays and memorial dates, there are 27 additional days off. In Europe, San Marino tops the list with 20 days off.

In Russia, Cyprus, and Turkey, there are 14 such holidays, ranking 13th in the world. In Greece, experts counted only 6 public holidays. The same number applies to Tunisia. Residents of only four countries have fewer holidays - Chile (5), Chad (4), India (3), and Lebanon (2).

Furthermore, in 19 countries worldwide, there are no legally guaranteed paid public holidays at all.

In total, the legislation of 197 countries worldwide was analyzed in the Resume.io study.
