Northern Cyprus: more than 35,000 animals vaccinated against foot-and-mouth disease

The Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of the TRNC reported that, as part of the campaign to combat foot-and-mouth disease, 35,702 animals have been vaccinated in Northern Cyprus.
From December 19 to 24, vaccinations were carried out at 313 farms:
34,180 head of cattle (at 300 farms)
1,522 head of small ruminants (at 13 farms)
The department emphasized that the work is being conducted jointly by public and private entities with the participation of field veterinarians. Producers are urged to strictly comply with animal transport rules, biosecurity measures, and vaccination schedules in order to stop the spread of the disease.
