Northern Cyprus Hit by African Dust Again
The Meteorological Department of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has issued an urgent warning regarding an increase in air pollution levels caused by dust. According to the department, fine dust particles have been carried into the region by winds from North Africa.
The warning is in effect from 12:00 PM today and will remain active until noon on Friday, March 14.
"As dust particles from North Africa are expected to cause air pollution, citizens with dust sensitivity are advised to take extra caution," stated the meteorological service.
This is the third dust pollution warning in 2025. Similar dust storms previously affected the island in mid-January and earlier in March.
