Stormy winds and brief showers expected tomorrow in Northern Cyprus

The Meteorological Service of Northern Cyprus expects that on September 30, the island will face active weather conditions: strong winds, rising temperatures, and localized short rains — a combination that may cause inconvenience for residents and transport.
According to forecasts, daytime air temperatures will rise to 31–34 °C in central regions, and 27–30 °C on the coast. Winds will blow mainly from the south and west, strengthening into gusts of 50–61 km/h. In some areas, conditions are expected to reach storm levels.
Particular concern is raised by the rainfall forecast: tomorrow and the coming Thursday, localized short rains are expected, especially due to the influence of cold and humid air masses in the upper atmosphere.
Such unstable weather creates several risks:
- at sea: sailing, especially in light vessels, may become unsafe;
- on the roads: gusts of wind may hinder driving, especially in open and elevated areas;
- local rains may reduce visibility and make roads slippery;
- strong winds may cause falling branches, flying objects, power outages, and building facade damage.
Residents are advised:
- if possible, postpone sea trips;
- exercise caution on the roads, especially when maneuvering and in open areas;
- secure outdoor objects (garden furniture, awnings, etc.);
- keep weather updates handy and follow forecasts;
- meteorologists promise to monitor the situation and update warnings if necessary.
