Sıla Usar İncirli: Goal is to provide the population with affordable and healthy meat
On 03.02.2026 in Northern Cyprus, the chairperson of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP), Sıla Usar İncirli, held a meeting with representatives of the Butchers' Union. During the discussion, current national issues were addressed, including rising production costs and feed shortages.
İncirli stated that meat is one of the main food products and emphasized the party's goal to provide the population with affordable and healthy meat. According to her, the issue concerns not only producers and butchers but the entire society; solving it requires cooperation among all stakeholders and the development of a coordinated model.
The Butchers' Union noted that the reason for rising prices is high production costs, primarily expenses for feed and energy. The meeting was held in a dialogue format, where the parties exchanged positions and proposals to reduce the negative impact of cost increases on consumers.
Participants in the meeting with İncirli included Secretary General Mehmet Kale Kişi, MP Fide Kürşat, Salahi Şahiner, and Central Executive Committee member Coral Aşam. From the Butchers' Union, Chairman Raşit Şenkaya and board members attended. The representative of the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Craftsmen and Traders at the meeting was Hürrem Tulga.
