Traffic Flow Monitoring Underway in the TRNC
As part of the TRNC's General Road Plan, traffic flow monitoring has started across Northern Cyprus. The study began on November 4 and will continue until November 22.
This initiative is being carried out in cooperation with the Department of Road Transport under the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and the General Directorate of Highways of the Republic of Turkey.
Special sensors have been installed at 72 locations along the roads across the country to count vehicles. These sensors will track how many vehicles are traveling on the country’s roads.
The collected data will be forwarded to the Department of Road Transport to help develop a preliminary plan for expanding the highway network.
