TRNC Showcased at EMITT Tourism Fair in Istanbul
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is participating in the 28th EMITT Tourism Fair in Istanbul, presenting itself under the theme "Island of Cyprus."
The Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment is representing Northern Cyprus at the event. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Tourism Minister Fikri Ataoğlu highlighted that tourism is not just an economic driver for the TRNC but also a key factor in fostering cultural exchange.
"We are honored to represent the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus at this prestigious event, where international tourism partnerships are formed, industry professionals exchange insights, and the future of global tourism is shaped. Positioned at the heart of the Mediterranean, our country is strengthening its presence in the tourism sector each day, thanks to our breathtaking natural landscapes, rich historical heritage, diverse cuisine, and renowned hospitality," said Ataoğlu.
The East Mediterranean International Tourism & Travel Exhibition (EMITT) is one of the world’s five largest tourism fairs. This year’s event is taking place at the Tuyap Fair Convention and Congress Center from February 5 to 7.
Organized by ICA Events, EMITT 2024 is hosting 666 invited tour operators from 78 countries, including the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Russia, France, South Africa, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Canada, India, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
