TRNC to Host Two Historic Turkic World Summits
The Union of Engineers and Architects of the Turkish World (TDMMB) will host two major summits in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). The events will take place from December 16-18, 2024, at the Elexus Hotel in Kyrenia. The two forums—International Conference on "Global Climate Change" and the Investment and Cooperation Development Program—have already been described as historic milestones for the country.
As part of the summit, Ersin Tatar, the leader of Turkish Cypriots, will receive the "Medal for Outstanding Service to the Turkish World" in recognition of his contribution to the unification of the Turkic world and the TRNC. The award will also honor his exemplary statecraft in strengthening this union.
The International Conference on Climate Change, organized in collaboration with TDMMB and the Near East University, is expected to attract over 300 scientists and business leaders from 38 countries across the Turkic world and related communities. The conference will focus on sharing knowledge on sustainable urbanism, engineering, and architecture in the context of climate change.
The Investment and Cooperation Development Summit, which will be held concurrently, aims to enhance economic cooperation between the TRNC and Turkey. The summit, supported by Turkey’s Ministry of Trade, will bring together engineers, architects, technical consultants, and contractors from the Turkic world.
The event will feature TRNC President Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, Turkey's Ambassador to Nicosia, Yasîn Ekrem Serim, along with ministers and representatives from key sectors of the economy.
“These historic summits in Kyrenia will strengthen the bonds between our two brotherly countries and usher in a new era of shared prosperity for the Turkic world,” said the conference organizers.
