TRNC Issues First Dust Alert of 2025 Due to Middle Eastern Dust
The Meteorological Department of the TRNC has issued an urgent warning about dust pollution in the air, caused by fine particles brought into the region from the Middle East.

Meteorologists report that the dust warning will remain in effect from 10:00 AM today until noon on Wednesday, January 15.
"Due to the dust particles from the Middle East, which are expected to cause air pollution in our area, citizens who are sensitive to dust are advised to take precautions," the department advised in their statement.
This is the first dust warning in Northern Cyprus for 2025. The last alert was issued in mid-December, when similar fine particles were carried into the region from North Africa.
