Teachers held a protest outside the ministries of education and finance
The Trade Union of Turkish Cypriot Secondary School Teachers (KTOEÖS) held a protest outside the buildings of the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Finance. Participants spoke out against the current education and budget policies, stating that the authorities’ decisions are worsening teachers’ working conditions and negatively affecting the education system.
Union representatives emphasized that they have repeatedly appealed to the relevant authorities for dialogue, but, according to them, the problems remain unanswered. Teachers insist on revising a number of decisions and state that they are ready to continue protest actions if their demands are ignored
