Flight Restrictions at Ercan Airport During TEKNOFEST
The Department of Civil Aviation under the Ministry of Public Works and Transport has announced that flight restrictions will be in place at Ercan Airport during the upcoming TEKNOFEST event. Special airspace regulations will apply from April 29 to May 5.
According to the announcement, during this period, flights will be prohibited except for aircraft participating in TEKNOFEST exhibitions. Restrictions will be enforced daily from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, and 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. However, drone and paragliding activities may be permitted during designated free times, subject to conditional approval from Air Traffic Control.

As a reminder, this year the world’s largest aerospace and technology festival, TEKNOFEST, will be held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). The event is set to take place from May 1 to 4 at the old Ercan Airport site, and participant registration is already open.
In addition, the first stage of the TEKNOFEST 2025 Drone Championship will be held on April 26–27 at the Near East University campus, at NEU Event Park. Drone pilots will showcase their speed and agility, racing with FPV-equipped drones across the skies.
