At Ercan Airport, Eren Yunal, Hakkı Kızılkaya, and Aylin Funda Ozan were detained in a case involving violations of the Law on the Circulation of Medicines and Pharmaceutical Activities. All three appeared in court again.
During the court session, the circumstances of the case were presented by police officer Demirhan Duran Dal from the local station.
According to him, on February 1, 2026, at around 23:30, during a passenger inspection arriving in Northern Cyprus, officers from the anti-narcotics and smuggling unit found the suspects in possession of medicines without proper authorization.
Specifically:
- Eren Yunal had 4 packs of Lyrica;
- Hakkı Kızılkaya — 4 packs;
- Aylin Funda Ozan — 3 packs, totaling 58 tablets of Lyrica.
All medicines were seized as evidence, and the suspects were detained on suspicion of violating the Law on Medicines and Pharmaceutical Activities.
The police officer reported that after the first court session, permission was obtained for an additional three-day detention, during which the seized medicines were sent for examination. The analysis has been completed and results received.
It was also established that all three entered Northern Cyprus on a tourist visa. Following the completion of the investigation, the police applied for the suspects to be held in custody.
After reviewing the presented statements, Judge Şevket Gazi ordered all three accused to be sent to prison for a period of up to 20 days.
