A smoking cessation clinic will open at Near East University Hospital

Near East University held a panel dedicated to World No Tobacco Day. During the event, it was announced that starting February 17, a specialized smoking cessation clinic will begin operating at the hospital.
The panel discussion "Smoking Cessation Treatment in All Aspects" included the university rector, hospital management, as well as doctors and psychologists. Experts emphasized that nicotine addiction is not only a physical but also a psychological problem, requiring a comprehensive approach and individualized treatment programs.
The new clinic will offer patients an extensive medical examination before starting therapy: laboratory tests, chest X-rays, respiratory function tests, ECG, psychologist consultations, and psychometric assessments. The treatment program is planned for 12 months with regular medical monitoring and the possibility of remote support.
The university administration noted that the project's goal is to combine medical care, scientific research, and educational activities to effectively combat tobacco addiction and strengthen public health.
