New Primary School Building Opened in Çatalköy
A new primary school building was officially opened in Çatalköy, coinciding with the start of the new school year in Northern Cyprus.
Among the speakers at the opening ceremony were Zorlu Töre, Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly; Ceyhun Kırok, Mayor of Çatalköy-Esentepe; Nazım Çavuşoğlu, Minister of National Education; and Uğur Çınar, Principal of Çatalköy Primary School.
Following the speeches, plaques of appreciation were awarded to individuals who contributed to the school's construction.
The foundation for Çatalköy Primary School, completed through the collaboration between the Çatalköy-Esentepe Municipality and the Ministry of National Education, was laid on August 8, 2023.
The new building spans 1,800 square meters and includes 19 classrooms, a staff room, 8 restrooms for teachers, 22 restrooms for students, 2 restrooms for students with special needs, a kitchen, and a dining hall.
Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu expressed his hopes for a happy, healthy, and successful academic year, stating, “We are proud to have established 26 new schools in the country over the past four years.”
It’s worth noting that the new academic year in Northern Cyprus officially began on Monday, September 23.
