Brutal crime in Lefkosia: father sentenced for years of abuse against disabled son

The Lefkosia court delivered a verdict in a case that shocked the public. The local court found 30-year-old man, known as F.G., guilty of committing sexual crimes against his 18-year-old son, who suffers from autism. The man was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Judge Fadıl Aksun emphasized that the crime was particularly severe due to the vulnerability of the victim and the fact that the offense was committed by the boy’s own father. He noted that a father should have been a support and protection for his son, not a source of fear and violence. Public prosecutor İbrahim Ruso and the defendant’s lawyer Kıvancı Maniera attended the hearing.
The case resonated widely in society, sparking outrage and discussions in the media and on social networks. Many expressed concern about the level of domestic violence and the insufficient protection of vulnerable groups.
The incident also drew attention to the rights of children and persons with disabilities, as well as the need to strengthen prevention and punishment for such crimes.
The case continues to provoke public debate on measures needed to prevent domestic violence and ensure the safety of vulnerable members of society.
