121 Units of Blood Collected at EMU in Northern Cyprus
A three-day blood donation campaign took place at the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Atatürk Square in Famagusta. The event was organized by the EMU Directorate of Student Development, Activities, and Sports in collaboration with the EMU Red Crescent Student Club and the Cyprus Turkish Red Crescent.
The campaign was held under the slogan “We Are Heartily Connected to Each Other.” Students and university staff participated in the event, and a total of 121 units of blood were collected.
EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç, EMU Foundation Board Member Beyhan Gürgöze, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Osman M. Karatepe, and Vice-Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Sonuç Zorlu visited the blood donation point and thanked the donors, emphasizing the importance of blood donation for saving lives.
Representatives of the Cyprus Turkish Red Crescent expressed their appreciation for the university’s readiness and support, stating that the campaign helps raise public awareness and contributes to the fight against diseases. For residents of Northern Cyprus, taking part in such campaigns remains an important way to support patients and strengthen the local healthcare system.
