Restaurant and Cold Storage in Degirmenlik–Akıncılar Suspended Due to Sanitary Violations

The Health Department of the Değirmenlik Akıncılar Municipality continues inspections of businesses for compliance with sanitary standards, hygiene rules, and food safety requirements.

During inspections conducted in January 2026, 30 establishments were checked. The control covered the sanitary condition of production areas, personal hygiene of staff, and compliance of processes with food safety requirements.

As a result of the inspections, the operation of one restaurant and one cold storage facility was suspended. Additionally, fines were imposed on a food production enterprise and a cold storage facility for non-compliance with hygiene and sanitary standards.

Over the month, specialists checked:

• 4 markets
• 9 restaurants and cafés
• 2 kindergartens / educational centers
• 2 butcher shops
• 3 food and household chemicals warehouses
• 1 food production facility
• 2 bakeries
• 3 fish stores
• 1 dairy production enterprise

As part of the control measures, the following were also confiscated:

• 40 units of food products
• 2 kg of meat and chicken
• 2 pieces of equipment
• 50 cosmetic items

Municipal services emphasized that inspections will continue, and compliance with hygiene and food safety standards remains a priority to protect public health.
