President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan celebrates his 70th birthday today. On his birthday, the Turkish leader held telephone talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
As reported on February 26 by the office of the President of the Turkish Republic, during the talks, President of Russia Vladimir Putin congratulated Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his birthday.
In addition, the leaders discussed bilateral relations between the countries.
It is worth noting that earlier, on February 14, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Vladimir Putin's visit to Turkey could take place in the near future. The Kremlin does not rule out that the trip could take place before the presidential elections, which are scheduled to take place in Russia on March 17.
The administration of the Turkish leader noted that Ankara expects Vladimir Putin's visit to Turkey to take place after the electoral cycles in both countries. It was also noted that there are no specific dates for the visit yet, but preparations are already underway.
It was also reported that during Vladimir Putin's visit to Turkey, all aspects of Moscow and Ankara's economic relations will be discussed.
