Stone bus stops made from natural materials are being installed in Karpaz
The Erenköy–Karpaz Municipality is implementing a project in Karpaz to install stone bus stops, constructed entirely from natural materials and harmonizing with the natural landscape and the traditional architecture of the region.
According to a written statement by the mayor of Erenköy–Karpaz, Hamit Bakırcı, the aim of the project is not only to meet the transport needs of local residents but also to preserve the historical and cultural appearance of Dipkarpaz and pass this heritage on to future generations.
Bakırcı noted that using natural materials allows for minimal environmental impact while supporting local architectural traditions. He emphasized that the new stops blend into the region’s natural environment and reflect its authentic identity.
The municipality stated that the work will continue in other settlements in the region as part of a policy of sustainable development and cultural heritage protection.
